Situated in the State of Oklahoma, Norman has developed an economic activity based on Industry (Computer engineering, aerospace, agribusiness) and the extraction or raw material such as oil, gas and coal.


Oklahoma University (O.U) , which is situated in Norman and welcomes more than 25,000 students, galvanizes the city thanks to numerous artistic representations and several sport meetings (Football, Basket-ball, Athletics) The City has recently been recognized as the “Bicycle Friendly Community” by the American League, and the most progressive city of Oklahoma.


An amazing diversity of activities is present all over Oklahoma, such as the Jazz Festival in June, the Medieval Feast in April, the Christmas Parade, and the Chocolate Festival.


Cooperation with the two universities is marked by exchanges at the university and cultural level. Every year, hundreds of Clermont-Ferrand students stay or train at Oklahoma University. O.U Students are welcomed in Clermont-Ferrand in the framework of Summer School. Thanks to the Pole of International Relations, Clermont-Ferrand Regional Music School and Norman Music School became closer and have developed students and professors exchanges.


In the Framework of Communication and cultural cooperation between the two cities, exchanges of exhibitions are regularly organized. As an example, the exhibition “nos Ancêtres les Gaulois” was presented in Norman and in other important cities in the USA, with the Support of the United States Embassy.


Finally, to mark good relationships between the two cities, Norman Square was inaugurated in Clermont-Ferrand.
