The Pole of International Relations of Clermont-Ferrand brings in projects aimed at developing relationships between the City of Clermont-Ferrand and other foreign cities.
Thanks to the Pole Iof nternational Relationsa nd local life representatives, the city of Clermont-Ferrand managed to create a real “Network of Cities” able to play an important part on prospects for sustainable development, in the economic, cultural and environmental fields.
Nowadays, the city of Clermont-Ferrand has created a network of eight partner cities around the World : Salford (England, 1966), Aberdeen (Scotland, 1983), Braga (Portugal, 1999), Gomel (Republic of Belarus, 1977), Norman (Oklahoma - U.S.A, 1994), Oviedo (Spain, 1988), Regensburg (Germany, 1969) and Oyem (Gabon, 2006).
In the objective of coordinating and developing this network, the Pole of International Relations intervenes in the following fields :
- Exchanges with partners cities : technical delegations specialized in different fields ( culture, sport, economy…) in order to prepare common projects
- support for local Projects with an international dimension.
- Informing the public on the evolution of international activities of Clermont-Ferrand.
- event organization with local partners on international and European projects.
